Setting up a new client & pets
Everything worth filling in the first time you add an owner, so scheduling and invoicing them later goes smoothly.
-
Add the owner
From Clients, tap New owner. Fill in contact details and the address — the address is what mileage and travel-time estimates are calculated from later, so it's worth getting right.
-
Note their preferred walk times, if they mentioned any
Preferred walk times are free-text labels (like "before 10am" or "after 2pm") you consult when scheduling — the app doesn't enforce them, they're just a reminder on the client's page.
-
Add each pet
From the owner, tap Add pet for every dog, cat, or other animal — name, breed, and date of birth. Multiple pets can belong to the same owner and be walked together or separately.
-
Tag anything that matters day-to-day
Tags like "Reactive" or "Lead only" are set up once from Service types & pricing's neighbouring Settings area (Pet tags), then applied to individual pets — they show up wherever that pet appears, including on the schedule.
-
Add secure notes for anything sensitive
A key safe code, an alarm code, anything you wouldn't want visible at a glance — put it in the client's Secure notes field. It's the one field that needs Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN to view; the client's name and address are encrypted at rest too, but shown without a prompt since you need them constantly.
-
Set a different price, if this client pays one
If this owner has a rate that differs from your Walk types defaults, set it from Custom rates on their client page rather than editing the walk type itself — it only changes pricing for them, on every booking of that type going forward.
